Bird flu outbreaks prompt national indoor shelter order

Summary

Agriculture secretary Silvio Erkens ordered farmers to keep poultry indoors due to three recent bird flu outbreaks in Groningen and Noord-Holland. Bird hobbyists must shield their birds in aviaries, and non-essential visitors are banned from bird-keeping locations. Stable poultry prices may be impacted by supply chain issues.
